What is Folium Sennae Extract?

Folium Sennae Extract, commonly referred to as senna leaf extract, is obtained from the dried small leaves of leguminous plants such as Cassia angustifolia Vahl or Cassia acutifolia Delile. This extract is rich in bioactive compounds, including sennosides, which are glycosides that have laxative effects. Other key components of the extract are aloe emodin, rhein 8-glucoside, and a significant amount of mucilage, tannic acid, and flavonoids, which together make up about 10% of the extract. These components contribute to the extract's therapeutic properties and make it a valuable ingredient in various health and wellness applications.
