What's Chitosan?

Chitosan, a natural biopolymer synthesized from the deacetylation of chitin, is also known as the "sixth important life element". It appears as a quasi-white semi-transparent solid with a luster like that of pearls, has no special odor, carries a positive charge, and has a relatively low solubility in water, but can dissolve in weak acids such as acetic acid.
