What is lactobacillus gasseri?
Lactobacillus gasseri is a Gram positive, facultative anaerobic probiotic that was first isolated and named from the healthy human gut in 1980. It is widely present in mucosal areas such as the intestine, vagina, and oral cavity.

It can produce lactic acid to regulate the pH value of the microenvironment, inhibit pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Candida, and also secrete antibacterial substances such as bacteriocins; Research has shown that it may assist in improving intestinal function and supporting vaginal microbiota balance. It is commonly found in fermented foods (such as fermented milk) and probiotic supplements, and is generally considered safe for health.
