What is Lactobacillus paracasei?

Lactobacillus paracasei is a Gram positive bacterium of the genus Lactobacillus, which is non spore forming and facultative anaerobic. It is commonly found in fermented foods (such as yogurt and cheese) and the human gut. It is resistant to stomach acid and bile, can colonize the intestine, and exert probiotic effects by regulating the balance of the microbiota, inhibiting harmful bacteria, and promoting immune cell activity. It can assist in improving digestion and alleviating symptoms of intestinal irritability. It is also widely used in probiotic preparations, and its safety has been verified through long-term consumption. It is one of the probiotic strains widely researched and applied.
